Essential Functions of Position, Major Responsibilities, Summary of Key Duties, Special Assignments, Relationships

• SPORT DUTIES
• Teach and coach players in the fundamentals and techniques of baseball
• Demonstrate competitive drive to develop and maintain a strong baseball program
• Demonstrate desire to continually improve the program and overall sports program at Central High School
• Communicate effectively with administration, staff, students, and booster club
• Support the strength and conditioning coordinator to ensure proper conditioning and weight training for student athletes
• Provide adequate supervision before, during, and after practices/games

• SCHOOL DUTIES
• Lead by example with high character and solid moral background
• Promote other programs at Central High School and encourage participation in other activities
• Work with Athletic Boosters in concession stands; attend at least one meeting per academic year

• FEEDER PROGRAMS
• Assist in development efforts for track at all age levels
• Assist in coaching clinics and youth camps (one per calendar year)
• Assist in the Davenport Central High Athletic Boosters youth summer sports camp

Other duties as assigned by head coach and administration

• Able to stand for long periods
• Able to drive school vans to events
• Able to lift/carry 50+ lbs
• Strong interpersonal skills with a proven record of building rapport with culturally diverse students and families

• Must hold a valid Iowa Coaching Authorization or Iowa Teaching License with Coaching Endorsement
• Experience with competition/success at the state level is desired
