Petroleum Installer II

Job Description

Oversight responsible, safe, and efficient construction operations as the senior installer on a job site. Provides direction and training to Installers‑in‑training and Installers, subcontractors and other Seneca personnel in the field.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead jobs (50% of the role). Provide direction to junior installers on each job site to meet job timelines. Plan, review, and develop a layout of each job assignment as directed. Review project status with senior installers, supervisors, consultants and project managers regularly. Complete all paperwork necessary for job completion and make mobile‑based job updates using mobile construction applications. Control cost by minimizing wasted resources such as materials, manpower and time.
  • Install tanks, piping and other equipment, and test them after installation (25%). Remove and dispose of old equipment. Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times. Operate various power tools, skid loaders, air compressors, forklifts, etc.
  • Provide direction and training to junior installers on each job site to meet job timelines (15%). Assist junior employees in the completion of daily tasks such as site cleanliness, travel reimbursement reporting, equipment maintenance and navigating the company's various systems.
  • Maintain safe operations on every job site (5%). Direct junior installers and subcontractors. Set verbal safety expectations for all personnel on and off site and lead by example. Conduct toolbox talks and tailgate talks daily, and a pre‑job safety brief to all installers and subcontractors on site.
  • Other duties as assigned (5%).
  • Working conditions:

    Potential exposure to fumes, dirt, noise, equipment movement dangers, confined spaces, vibrations, dangerous chemicals/solvents, electrical shock and inclement temperature extremes.
  • Physical/Mental exertion:
    Ability to perform heavy physical labor exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and up to 50 pounds of force frequently for tasks such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping and fingering.
What We’re Looking For
  • Education:

    High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience:

    4+ years in the petroleum installation field.
  • Licenses/Certifications:

    HAZWOPER 40 certification, State‑issued CDL‑A, State‑issued UST installer license.
  • Autonomy/Direction:
    Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Trains and directs activities of junior installers and is required to make quick decisions in the field without management assistance. Must be able to travel…
