Tri-City Group is currently seeking an experienced Construction Equipment Mechanic to join our team! This position is responsible for the maintenance, delivery, repair, and safety of a wide range of construction, heavy machines, equipment, and vehicles for construction sites and services.
Responsibilities- Repairing and Maintaining Mechanical Equipment — Servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines, devices, moving parts, and equipment that operate primarily based on mechanical (not electronic) principles.
- Motorized and non-motorized small engines, portable and stationary generators. Mechanical hydraulic, pneumatic booms, derricks, diggers, bucket trucks, repair vehicles, job trailers, controls, lines, hoses, cables, drive assembly, winches and gearboxes, and add-on components such as pumps, racking, and lighting.
- Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defects.
- Inspecting Equipment, Structures, or Materials — Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
- Mends damaged body parts by hammering out or filling in dents and bodywork, including painting. Examines protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices adjusting as needed.
- Initiates purchase orders for parts and machines.
- Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
- Drives vehicles and equipment to and from designated locations for service and repairs, transport materials and/or equipment while keeping documentation of transport, and service details.
- Cleaning, inspecting, and servicing equipment.
- Follows safe operating procedures based on vehicle/load requirements and proper tie‑down procedures checked off prior to transport.
Education and Experience
- 2 years of related work experience (Mechanic, Vehicle, Equipment, Machine maintenance)
- Mechanic 2-year secondary degree or certification and/or equivalent work experience
- CDL Class A Driving License and valid DOT physical card
- Certified Industrial Maintenance Mechanic (CIMM) - preferred, not required
- Preferred:
Have your own basic hand tools, and steel toe/composite toe boots
- Demonstrate auditory and visual acuity/tracking/inspection
- Following safety protocols and procedures to prevent on the job accidents and injuries
- Ability to lift, move, push, or pull up to 75 pounds regularly
