Air Compressor Service Technician

Location: Iowa City, IA (Branch Office) – Remote Technician near the Quad Cities considered

Compensation: $25–$45/hour (based on experience) + Overtime + $12,000 Signing Bonus

As a Service Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting our customers and keeping essential equipment running.

Responsibilities include:

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and emergency service on compressed air systems, including rotary screw air compressors, dryers, blowers, vacuum pumps, and rental equipment.

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and control issues.

• Support installations and equipment start-ups, ensuring systems operate properly.

• Use precision measuring tools and diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve issues.

• Work with the Service Coordinator to order, stage, and manage parts for jobs.

• Document all service work through accurate work orders, maintenance checklists, and time sheets.

• Promote company services and solutions while maintaining strong customer relationships.

• Ensure a safe, clean, and organized work environment in compliance with company policies and safety standards.

• Experience: Rotary screw compressor experience preferred; mechanical/electrical troubleshooting background required. Candidates without compressor experience but with strong mechanical aptitude (auto, HVAC, industrial, etc.) are encouraged to apply.

• Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving ability, and a proactive customer-service mindset.

• Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

  • Ability to travel regionally as needed.

  • Willingness to work independently while representing the company professionally.

• Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, with overtime opportunities.

• Pay: $25–$45/hour, based on experience.

  • Entry-level technicians (no compressor experience): $25–$30/hour.

  • Experienced compressor technicians: $35–$45/hour + Signing Bonus.

• Signing Bonus: up to $12,000 bonus based on experience paid over 12 months after the first full year of employment.

• Overtime: Guaranteed 40 hours/week, with OT opportunities.

• Retirement: 401(k) with 3% company contribution (Safe Harbor plan).

• Insurance:

  • Two health plan options (Peerless pays 75% of premium for employee + family).

  • Optional dental, vision, short- and long-term disability, and voluntary life insurance.

• Paid Time Off:

  • 56 hours after 90 days.

  • 56 hours after 1 year.

  • 80 hours after 2 years.

  • 120 hours after 5 years.
