Position: (USA) Coach/Ops Mgr Trainee

Overview

Position Summary... What you ll do... Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching training and actively listening to associates touring stores and providing feedback. Tour-to-Teach communicating and collaborating with all levels of associates regarding store operations utilizing technology business initiatives merchandising and company direction, introducing and leading company change efforts providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions and communicating business objectives to teams effectively.

Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards to store associates by following and demonstrating the One Best Way (OBW) service model, managing and supporting customer service initiatives, and developing and implementing action plans to ensure a high quality customer experience. Drives the financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing and evaluating PL statements, budgeting forecasting, controlling expenses, and ensuring alignment to sales and inventory, with focus on merchandising, inventory flow and operational processes and mitigating shrink to meet goals.

Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates including hiring training mentoring and promoting a sense of belonging. Coordinates and oversees job-related activities with key stakeholders to meet customer and business needs and identifies improvement opportunities. Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures supporting mission values and ethics. Performs in a manner aligned with Walmart values and the Open Door Policy.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop teams through teaching, training, listening to associates, touring stores, and providing feedback.
  • Communicate and collaborate with all levels of associates regarding store operations and company direction; lead change efforts and implement business solutions.
  • Model exceptional customer service following the OBW service model; manage and support customer service initiatives and drive a high quality customer experience.
  • Review PL statements, assist in budgeting and forecasting, control expenses, and ensure alignment to sales; manage merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes.
  • Develop action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals; provide process improvement leadership.
  • Supervise and develop hourly associates: hire, train, mentor, assign duties, set expectations, recognize performance, and promote belonging in the workplace.
  • Recruit and develop qualified associates to meet staffing needs and support company growth.
  • Coordinate and oversee activities by maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and uphold ethics and integrity; apply Open Door Policy in daily processes.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

2 years’ of college; OR 1 year’s retail experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience; OR 2 years’ general work experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience. For facilities that sell firearms, successful completion of a CBC and Firearms Authorized Training may be required. For facilities that sell only ammunition and have state-specific requirements, a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required.

Associates will be required to attend and complete all job-required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University;
Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University;
General work experience supervising 5+ direct reports including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly wage range for this position is $31.25 - $38.46. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Some positions may include Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) and State Pay Differential where applicable.
