RN - Pre-op​/Post-Op Registered Nurse

Mississippi Valley Surgery Center is seeking a full-time, part-time or per-diem Registered Nurse (RN) to join our surgical services team. This role provides comprehensive nursing care to patients during the pre-operative and post-operative phases of their surgical experience. MVSC offers a competitive wage and benefits package. Key Responsibilities:

Conduct pre-operative assessments and prepare patients for surgery. Monitor and assess patient status throughout the perioperative process. Provide post-operative care, including monitoring vital signs, managing pain, and facilitating recovery. Educate patients and families on post-surgical care instructions and discharge planning. Document all patient care activities accurately and promptly. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care.

Qualifications:

• Active Iowa RN license.
• Strong assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS certification required within 12 months of hire.
• Mandatory Reporter Training for dependent adult abuse and child abuse.
• Prior experience in an ambulatory surgical center (ASC) is preferred.
