Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation and evaluation) to provide individualized nursing care to residents. The RN collaborates with residents, families, and inter‑disciplinary colleagues—including providers—to plan, implement, and evaluate care. The RN demonstrates competency within the full scope of nursing expertise and employs age‑ and population‑specific standards appropriate to their clinical setting.

Responsibilities include preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, and treatment, as well as coordination of care, resident assessment, resident education, and various nursing interventions. The RN may serve as charge nurse, delegating tasks to licensed and unlicensed assistive personnel whose skills and competence meet job‑specific needs, and providing adequate support to ensure safe, reliable resident care.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred (e.g., CCNE, ACEN, NLN‑CNEA);
Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred.

• Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where practice occurs, and/or possesses multistate licensure in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.

• Obtains and maintains required department‑specific competencies and certifications.
