Provides and directs safe, effective, and culturally-competent perioperative care for pediatric through aging adult patients. Key accountabilities include assessments, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care using critical thinking and evidenced-based practice; adherence to the Professional Practice Standards as defined by ANA; and active participation in quality monitoring and performance improvement activities. During procedures, the nurse will function in one of two roles with distinct competencies applied to each role: circulating nurse or scrub nurse.
Responsibilities- Provide and direct safe, effective, and culturally-competent perioperative care for pediatric through aging adult patients.
- Conduct assessments, diagnoses, identify outcomes, plan, implement, and evaluate care using critical thinking and evidence-based practice.
- Adhere to ANA Professional Practice Standards and participate in quality monitoring and performance improvement activities.
- During procedures, function as circulating nurse or scrub nurse with the appropriate competencies for each role.

- Education:
Associate's Degree in Nursing - Field Of Study:
Nursing - Special Training: ACLS;
Basic Life Support (BLS) - Training Preferred:
Baccalaureate in Nursing - Licensure/Registration:
Registered Nurse in Iowa;
Registered Nurse in Illinois within 1 year - Experience:
No experience required - Interpersonal Skills:
Interactions with a variety of people; moderate difficulty and sensitivity; capable of handling moderately complicated problem situations or stressful encounters - Physical Demands:
Very High Intensity physical labor; lifting more than 50 pounds; significant stamina; may require rest; varied body postures; occasional 10-35% of time - Working Conditions:
Routine exposure to adverse environmental conditions; safety precautions required; time exposure limited to 70% or less of the work day - Possible Exposure to Blood Borne Pathogens:
