7.5 hrs/day Custodian

Join the Davenport Community Schools team as a 7.5‑hr day custodian.

Compensation and Eligibility
Entry‑level pay $17.84/hr current employees refer to the Salary Schedule established by the bargaining unit.

• Clean/sanitize desk/table tops, door handles, restroom fixtures
• Cleans glass
• Dusts horizontal surfaces, clocks, overhead screens, and blinds
• Wet mopping of floors, spot cleaning of carpets and hard flooring
• Dust/vacuum ceiling vents
• Removes trash
• Vacuum upholstered furniture
• Assist with deep cleaning during break periods—stripping, scrub & recoat, cleaning restrooms, glass, and furniture
• Removes snow
• Minor grounds keeping
• Lawn mowing
• Assist with delivery of supplies
• Properly maintain equipment
• Report maintenance issues to Head & Lead Custodian
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Must work days during the summer

Ability to lift & carry up to 56 lb.
Ability to climb up to an 8‑ft ladder to perform custodial tasks (e.g., cleaning light fixture).
Ability to climb steps and work on uneven ground.
Ability to understand and follow oral instructions.

• Must have high school degree or GED
