IT Application Specialist, Swing Shift (Transportation)
The Application Specialist performs technical application support to assist departments and management with information technology applications/platforms. This is accomplished by performing upper-level technical support for Dynamics, UKG, INSEQ, Ignition, JDA WMS, TMS, and Microsoft Power Apps. Work involves configuring current systems, conducting needs assessments, evaluating new systems, and developing functional specifications/scope for technology projects. Advise in procuring new systems and implementing vendor-supplied applications, including the process scope, installation, customization, deployment, maintenance, training, and ongoing support.
This is a swing shift position.

Responsibilities- Administer applications and provide technical expertise in process, development, and execution of INSEQ, Ignition, JDA WMS, TMS, and Microsoft Power Apps.
- Assist in the development of software products, select appropriate software applications according to business requirements, and ensure the achievement of end results.
- Assist with customer requirements and provide operational input, engineering input, and technical support.
- Work with the Business Development team on solution designs for new and prospective customers.
- Design, optimize, and collaborate on warehouse layouts and material flow within the operations.
- Organize regular research studies for new and emerging technologies to grow and optimize the organization.
- Collaborate with Operations and Engineers to ensure applications are maintained, optimized, and upgraded to meet current and future needs.
- Assist with system checks and quality assurance.
- Interface with software vendors to coordinate project rollouts and enhancements.
- Provide post-implementation support and ongoing support plans.
- Quickly responds to incident alerts and support calls. Identifies and coordinates with teams critical to the events resolution, sets up bridge calls, and escalates when necessary.
- Proactively monitors highly available applications/systems.
- Interprets and disseminates information to various audiences, including support teams, internal leadership, and customers.
- Performs key tasks to test upgrades, cumulative updates, hotfixes, and enhancements to production by first verifying test and development systems.
- Self-educates on new systems, applications, and tools and requests guidance or training.
- Creating and implementing system changes, emergency changes, and break fixes following the Change Request Process.
- Models and reinforces safety as a top priority of the organization.

WorkEnvironment
This job is performed in a professional office environment. It routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, scanners, and photocopiers. Steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and vests are required personal protective equipment (PPE) when in a warehouse location.
Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkFull Time, Exempt. Schedule flexibility for extended or unplanned work hours is required. Swing shift hours reflect 11:00 AM - 3:30 PM CST
TravelTravel may be required between TVS Supply Chain Solutions, North American sites.
Education and ExperienceAssociate degree or equivalent industry certification in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Strong communication skills. Working knowledge of Dynamics, UKG, JDA WMS, Ignition, and Microsoft Power Apps. Process and workflow analysis and documentation. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Office 365 preferred.
