DescriptionAs a Behavioral Health Tech at Mercy One, you will participate in the provision of safe, quality patient care as delegated by the Nurse Manager. The Technician greets patients upon admission to the Behavioral Health Unit. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: providing patient unit orientation, providing the patient with the standard daily activity schedule and setting behavior expectations during the patient’s stay on the unit.
The Technician leads group sessions to develop patient relationships. Sessions include daily goal setting and follow up with patients to track their accomplishments. The position requires the ability to establish rapport and trust with patients and the ability to offer interventions if patient situations escalate. The Technician may be required to assist with patient personal care and perform health monitoring activities.
Adult Psychiatric
Schedule- 3rd shift (11pm-7:30am)
- Part Time .2 (8 hours a week)
- Rotating Weekends
- Rotating Holidays
- Training Preferred:
Medical terminology, CNA, Previous Behavioral Health Experience - Special Training:
Basic Life Support, CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) - More than 2 years' experience required
- High School diploma/GED or equivalent experience
