The community you ll be caring for: Advent Health Heart of Florida

Advent Health Heart of Florida is a licensed 193-bed acute care hospital, coupled with outpatient services including imaging, rehab, lab and wound care, that has been serving the community for over 50 years.

Located in Davenport, FL., which is close to major destinations, like Busch Gardens, Legoland, and Walt Disney World, without being located in the central hub of tourism.

The role you ll contribute: Responsible for inspecting, assembling, and evaluating all surgical instruments and instrument sets to ensure quality. This position determines the need for repair or replacement of instruments. This role validates the completeness of each instrument set. In addition, this position facilitates effective sterilization processes. This role ensures all instruments meet the required standards for surgical procedures.

The value you ll bring to the team:

• Operates sterilization equipment and inspects instruments, equipment, and containers to ensure cleanliness and proper functioning.
• Performs decontamination of soiled instruments, sterilization containers, and equipment according to instructions for use (IFUs) and established protocols.
• Corrects instrument sets according to current standards, established count sheets, and/or instrument tracking systems.
• Maintains proper levels of inventory to ensure availability for case carts.
• Performs regular quality assurance program audits of peers.

The expertise and experiences you ll need to succeed:

• High School Grad/Equivalent or Technical/Vocational School
• Sterile Processing experience
• Certified Registered Central Service Tech (CRCST) credentialed from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD)
