Major

Purpose:

Provides quality planning, control, and improvement support for product development teams, manufacturing engineering, supply management, and manufacturing and/or distribution organizations to assure product quality meets the customers' expectations. This includes the application of quality tools within the Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP), Enterprise Order Fulfillment Process (EOFP) and Customer Support Process (CSP). Also supports application of quality tools with key suppliers as an integral element of quality planning.

• Contribute to the analysis of information and the specification of the methods and process steps, as well as the plant, machinery, and equipment, required to design and continuously improve manufacturing or materials processes and process systems to deliver the end product within specified cost and quality parameters.
• Contribute to the design of engineering solutions; design the feasibility testing approach and supervise its implementation to support the development and validation of engineering solutions.
• Carry out a range of activities under the guidance of more senior colleagues to support the drafting of engineering standards and specifications and the evaluation of the effectiveness of those standards.
• Carry out inspections under the supervision of senior colleagues to evaluate the quality of engineering works and/or the integrity of existing installations or structures, and make recommendations to senior colleagues on the remedial works needed to ensure conformance with specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Deliver required outcomes by coordinating activities of subcontractors and suppliers and acting as a primary point of contact for them while working within an established contract management plan.
• Identify shortcomings in existing processes, systems, and procedures, and use established change management programs to address them.
• Help others get the most out of knowledge management systems by offering support and advice.
• Carry out a range of product development and engineering activities. Use established systems to analyze customer needs and define and deliver products.
• Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals.
• Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential.
• Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.

Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Level.

Quality Engineer

• Visa sponsorship is not available, now or in the near future, for this position.
• 3rd shift, 40 hours/week with up to 5 hours of overtime per week.
• Mechanical/Industrial Degree is preferred however not required. Manager is willing to consider candidates with other degrees and equivalent work experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite is required and additional software/activities can be trained.
• Seeking candidates who are team based and have shop floor experience.

• Use quality tools and practices to establish approval criteria to ensure the identification of quality concerns.
• Investigate unit quality related issues and concerns related to product and processes, gathering and analyzing data, resolving/facilitating resolution and implementing corrective action.
• Provide work direction to inspectors on containment, quality procedures and tools to monitor critical processes.
• Facilitate quality‑related discussions with internal and external customers to drive corrective action.
• Generate monthly quality reports for monitoring metrics and participate in management reviews.
• Help identify continuous improvement projects (CI).

50-75% of time will be spent on shop floors.
