Role OverviewEngineer Quality II – Quality Engineering is responsible for ensuring products meet customer quality expectations by supporting quality planning, control, and continuous improvement across product development, manufacturing, supply management, and distribution. The role involves applying structured quality tools within enterprise processes, improving manufacturing systems, supporting engineering validation and standards, coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors, conducting inspections, and driving corrective actions. It also requires working within project plans, supporting knowledge management, and continuously developing technical and industry expertise.
In short, this position helps design, monitor, and improve processes to deliver high-quality products efficiently and consistently.
1. Quality Planning & Process Improvement
- Analyze manufacturing and materials processes to improve quality and cost performance.
- Define process steps, equipment requirements, and improvement methods.
- Identify gaps in systems and drive corrective actions using structured change management tools.
- Support development of engineering solutions.
- Design feasibility and validation testing approaches.
- Assist in drafting and evaluating engineering standards and specifications.
- Perform quality inspections under guidance.
- Evaluate engineering work for compliance with specifications and regulations.
- Recommend corrective or remedial actions.
- Act as primary quality contact for suppliers and subcontractors.
- Ensure supplier processes align with quality standards.
- Support supplier quality planning and issue resolution.
- Apply structured tools to translate customer needs into product requirements.
- Support product validation and continuous improvement efforts.
- Work within defined project plans to meet cost, quality, and timeline goals.
- Support knowledge-sharing systems and documentation best practices.
- Maintain industry knowledge and regulatory awareness.
- Participate in training, accreditation, and continuous learning initiatives.
Education: Mechanical/Industrial Degree is preferred however not required. Manager is willing to consider candidates with other degrees and equivalent work experience.
