The Energy Manager is responsible for supporting energy management programs and initiatives to achieve energy reduction and carbon footprint goals for the Mercy One Genesis Health System.
Responsibilities- Develop and execute site specific Energy Management Plans.
- Oversee consultants and contractors providing energy services.
- Support the Health System in performing tasks required for compliance with applicable energy and carbon reduction legislation.
- Perform energy audits, retro-commissioning, and system optimization activities.
- Develop energy conservation measures and manage resulting energy projects.
- Develop appropriate Measurement and Verification protocols and manage implementation.
- Perform energy data collection, analysis, and reporting to track performance against established goals.
- Collaborate with other departments and external vendors to ensure the integration of energy-saving measures into facility operations and project plans.
- Assist in managing energy budgets.
- Develop and oversee submetering plan.
- Perform tasks to identify and obtain available incentives.
- Develop and present energy & financial analyses to justify energy investments.
- Collaborate with Facilities Engineering on BAS controls upgrades to ensure consistent operating protocols across the system.
- Stay informed about the latest developments in energy technology and practices.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Energy Management, Facilities Management or related fields.
- Strong understanding of building systems (HVAC, electrical, lighting) and building management control systems (BMS/BAS).
- Certified Energy Manager Certification (CEM) or Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) certification required.
- Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP) certification preferred.
- Proficiency in energy data analysis tolls and benchmarking platforms such as ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- 4 Year degree in Engineering, Energy Management, Environmental Science or Project Management.
