Job Description INTERNAL SUMMER POSITION ONLY
Interested DCSD employees must use the internal application through Applitrack to apply.
The rate of pay for this position is $28/hour. This role will require working extra off-contract hours over the course of the spring and summer.
Duties & Responsibilities
:

- These positions will oversee ESY for special education students.
- Available outside of school hours from May-June for summer school planning and implementation and during the summer programming dates from June-August.
- Work collaboratively with building special education facilitators, specialists, principals, and ESY staff to design and implement ESY.
- Manages the day-to-day program operations for ESY.
- Extensive knowledge and practice with specially designed instruction and progress monitoring.
- Ensures a safe and engaging environment for all students through PBIS and CRVP implementation.
- Coordinate resources and technology for the successful execution of ESY including health services, transportation, specially designed instruction and progress monitoring.
- Communicate with district and building administrators before, during and after ESY.
- Maintain accurate records of student enrollment, participation, and achievement throughout the program.
- Utilize progress monitoring data to update curriculum specialists and building administrators on student IEP progress.
- Collaborate with summer staff to address behavioral concerns and create plans for success.
- Collaborate with staff, families, and Special Ed Office to provide technology solutions.
- Support teachers in communicating with parents and promote positive attendance and behavior.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times in regard to parent and student interactions.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Good attendance and punctuality are a must to ensure that the duties and responsibilities of the job are performed successfully

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to -
- Sit, stand, speak, hear, see, and walk to carry out routine duties.
- Must be able to occasionally lift, move, or push items of 50 lbs. such as assisting children or moving/rearranging furniture.
- Must be able to supervise students in all types of weather.
- Meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.
- Must be able to implement Crisis Prevention Intervention strategies, including appropriate physical restraint procedures and escorting.
