Duties & Responsibilities: (Essential Functions of Position, Major Responsibilities, Summary of Key Duties)
General Description: Stepping Stones Program Director responsibilities as part of the DHS Licensed Stepping Stones Program Sites. Under immediate supervision, performs work of routine and moderate difficulty in recreation programs, and performs related work as required. The average number of weekly hours is sixteen per week at locations around Davenport, Monday through Friday.
Working Hours: 1:45PM – 5:30PM
Examples Of Duties
- Supervise students in large and small group settings
- Assist certified instructors and community agency representatives with program activities
- Engage with students in large and small groups, modeling good social skills and facilitating healthy relationships
- Facilitate behavioral interventions according to Stepping Stones philosophy, policies and procedures, as needed and appropriate
- Communicate in a positive and professional manner with other Stepping Stones staff members, students, families, and the public
- Always provide direct supervision of students, ensuring health and safety both in and outside the school building
- Assist students with academic activities, supporting good work habits, critical thinking skills, and positive attitudes about learning
- Participate in the preparation, facilitation and cleanup of activities, including the maintenance of Stepping Stones materials and program space
- Other similar duties, as requested
- Require 12 hours of ongoing professional development each academic year
- Must have the following within 60 days of employment: DHS Child Care Assistance, Mandatory Reporter Training, CPR/First Aid Certification

- Able to walk up and down stairs
- Walk and carry materials up and down steps
- Stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Lift 30 pounds
- Bend, squat and kneel
