Job Description

Provides direct supervision of all field personnel and construction projects, handles field problem solving and project decision‑making activities as needed. Assists in project management, coordinates the activities of tradespeople, professionals, and laborers, and works closely with customers, engineers, and local officials on permits.

What You’ll Do
  • 60%: Provide expertise to field personnel, construction project managers, and field office managers. Handle problem solving and project decision‑making activities. Assist in project and personnel management.
  • 55%: Provide direct supervision of all field personnel and projects, manage personnel matters such as salaries, performance reviews, and terminations.
  • 20%: Assist in project management and conduct thorough pre‑job reviews with installers and managers.
  • 10%: Monitor expenses, coordinate with Project Managers on material and labor costs, and ensure timely procurement.
  • 10%: Assist in developing safety policies, monitor field personnel’s adherence to safety standards, and improve construction procedures.
  • 5%: Perform other duties as assigned.
Working Hazards

Works in a seated position for extended periods. Occasionally works in environments with potential exposure to fumes, dirt, noise, equipment movement dangers, vibrations, dangerous chemicals or solvents, electrical shock, and inclement temperature extremes.

What We’re Looking For
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, Environmental Science, or related fields preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 4+ years of construction site leadership experience.
  • Licenses/Certifications: HAZWOPER 40 certification, Driver’s license. State‑issued UST installer license preferred; all required upon hire.
  • Technical Abilities: Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to negotiate. Proficiency in mathematics and record‑keeping. Knowledge of equipment unique to petroleum tanks and underground storage tank industry. Ability to coordinate and review the work of others. Basic computer skills and proficiency with Pro Core and Outlook.
  • Autonomy/Direction: Works with minimal supervision and demonstrates high‑level decision‑making, including personnel decisions.
  • Physical/Mental Exertion: Ability to perform heavy physical labor, lifting up to 100 lb occasionally, up to 50 lb frequently, including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, and grasping.
  • Tools and Equipment: Ability to perform manual construction work and equipment operation as described. Knowledge of computer programs such as Pro Core and Outlook.
