Under the direction of the Parks & Recreation Director, this position will perform duties necessary to meet the needs of the community. The duties include program development, prudent fiscal management, and general clerical duties.

• Assist in the delivery of special events.
• Promote, organize, and stimulate good relationships with community and other interest groups and other agencies serving the area.
• Prepare accurate and appropriate program and facility information for seasonal brochures and other miscellaneous public information.
• Solicit sponsors and donations for programs.
• Perform general clerical duties: answering telephones, taking and recording registrations, customer service, taking applications and processing payments, creating payment and programming spreadsheets, and filing.
• Maintain a clean and orderly facility.
• Perform other duties as directed.

• Knowledge of principles, practices, and objectives of Parks and Recreation Program Administration.
• Ability to perform unskilled labor work and lift at least twenty-five pounds.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and environmental situations.
• Ability to use basic computer software and learn other required programs.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics and write simple reports.
• Capability to work various schedules for short- or long-term assignments.
• Ability to work harmoniously with employees, patrons, community groups, and other local government units.
• Effective time management and ability to work under deadline pressure.
• Strong communication skills in one-on-one and group settings.
• Maintain self-control and composure in difficult situations.

• Extensive knowledge of athletic activities, rules, regulations, and procedures for organized leagues.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Pass applicable pre-employment testing and background and credit checks.

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must possess a valid State of Florida Class E driver’s license.
• First Aid and CPR Certifications are required.
• Must pass the State required background check.
• Must possess an honorable military discharge, if applicant has a service-connected status.
• Must be a United States citizen or naturalized citizen.
• Must pass a physical examination and drug urinalysis test.
• Must not have been convicted of a felony.
• Must pass a personal, professional, and moral background investigation.
• Must be able to work weekends and nights.
• Must be fluent in English; ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus.
