About the Role
A leading UK aerospace manufacturer is growing its metallics department and looking for experienced Sheet Metal Workers with aircraft / defence / precision engineering backgrounds.
If you're used to fabricating, forming, drilling, riveting, assembling, or working from complex aerospace drawings
, this environment will feel familiar from day one.
This is not general fabrication - this is precision, tight-tolerance, regulated aerospace work.
Key ResponsibilitiesFabrication and forming of aerospace components using jigs, fixtures, press and hand tools
Working from detailed technical drawings, route cards and aerospace work instructions
Riveting, drilling, deburring, fettling and assembly of metallic components
Ensuring work meets AS9100 quality requirements
Completing documentation accurately and maintaining traceability
Working closely with Production, Quality and Engineering teams
Proven experience in aerospace sheet metal
, aircraft structures, metallic assembly, or similar precision engineeringAbility to read and interpret complex engineering drawings
Skilled in hand tools, rivet guns, drills, skins, frames & brackets
Strong awareness of quality, safety and right-first-time standards
Ex-forces mechanical trades (REME/RAF Aircraft Tech, Royal Navy Engineering) strongly encouraged
Stable aerospace employer with long-term defence contracts
