The PositionThe Corporate Accountant plays a key role in ensuring Mara’s finance function runs smoothly across our global operations. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this hands‑on role leads month‑end accounting, reconciliations, financial analysis, payment processing and payroll support.
This position is ideal for someone with solid accounting experience who enjoys taking ownership of the month‑end close, contributing to process improvements, and supporting accurate, timely financial reporting in a collaborative, fast‑moving team.
Key Responsibilities Month‑End Accounting & Close- Lead month‑end activities for Algarithm, including bank reconciliations, AP/AR reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, prepaids, deferred revenue, capital assets, account reconciliations, and sales reporting.
- Support month‑end close for Mara Renewables Corporation, Mara Germany, and Mara Asia (APAC).
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of the monthly close process.
- Prepare monthly P&L analysis and provide variance commentary to support business insights and decision‑making.
- Review and approve AP coding for accuracy and proper expense classification.
- Process wires and set up payments for Mara and Algarithm entities.
- Review employee expense reports for accuracy and policy compliance.
- Act as backup to the Payroll Manager, supporting payroll processing as required.
- Assist with payroll reconciliations, reporting, and related journal entries.
- Support payroll compliance and ensure accurate documentation and controls are maintained.
- Maintain accurate reconciliations and support strong internal controls across entities.
- Provide backup support for inventory accounting as needed.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a multi‑entity environment.
- CPA designation in progress or completed is a plus.
- Strong understanding of full‑cycle month‑end close, reconciliations, accruals, deferred revenue, capital assets, and foreign currency revaluations.
- Exposure to payroll processing, payroll reconciliations, or supporting payroll compliance.
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple deadlines, and collaborative mindset.
- Broader exposure to multi‑entity global finance operations, giving you hands‑on experience in accounting, analysis, and controls.
