Darthaven Marina is a well-established 270‑berth marina set in the heart of the stunning South Hams countryside. Over the last 50 years, we’ve built a reputation for outstanding service to berth holders and visitors alike, and now, we’re looking for a Marina / Berthing Assistant to help us take that service to the next level.

As a key part of our Berthing Team, you'll ensure that our marina runs smoothly and that every customer receives a warm welcome and efficient service. You’ll be working both independently and as part of a team across a variety of practical and customer‑facing tasks. Due to the nature of our business, work will be a mixture of daytime, evening and weekend work with some bank holidays as part of a fixed, fortnightly rota.
Yourresponsibilities will include:
- Managing the berthing office and responding to customer enquiries (in person, by phone, VHF, and email)
- Allocating berths and assisting visiting vessels with berthing
- Conducting daily marina checks and inspections
- Keeping pontoons and marina areas clean, safe, and well‑presented
- Using equipment such as workboats, forklifts and pressure washers
- Reporting incidents and supporting general site operations
Please note:
This role includes manual work, working on wet/damp surfaces, and outdoor duties in all weather conditions.
We’re looking for someone who brings:
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- A positive, can‑do attitude
- A friendly, approachable manner
- The ability to stay calm and professional in a busy environment
- Good attention to detail and a practical mindset
- A willingness to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
Previous experience in hospitality, front‑of‑house, or marine settings is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided for the right candidate.
