Are you a qualified Commercial Gas Engineer looking for a role where your expertise is valued, your development is supported, and your earning potential reflects your skillset? We're recruiting for an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join a growing Maintenance team. Reporting directly to the PPM Contracts Manager, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality planned and reactive maintenance services across a diverse portfolio of sites.
TheOpportunity
This is a hands-on, field-based role where no two days are the same. You'll be trusted to:
- Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Respond to reactive callouts and breakdowns
- Diagnose and repair faults across commercial heating systems
- Carry out minor project works
- Maintain accurate site and compliance documentation (digital and hard copy)
- Participate in an out-of-hours emergency call-out rota
- Supervise engineering apprentices when required
- Manage van stock and specialist components
You'll also have the opportunity to broaden your knowledge across mechanical and electrical building services and develop professionally within a structured and accredited environment.
What We're Looking For Essential Qualifications & Certifications- Completed recognised apprenticeship in Gas/Mechanical Engineering (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
- Current commercial gas qualifications including: COCN1, CODNCO1, ICPN1, CDGA1, CIGA1, CORT1, ICAE1/LS, TPCP1A / TPCP1
- Full UK driving licence
- Strong experience in fault finding, rectification and planned maintenance
- Solid knowledge of commercial heating systems
- Sound understanding of Health & Safety legislation and safe systems of work
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Good IT literacy (MS Office, Outlook, digital reporting systems)
- Self‑motivated, solution‑focused and able to work independently
- Experience across domestic, industrial and commercial environments
- Mechanical services, plumbing and heating background
- Enhanced DBS (can be arranged)
- Basic salary circa £60,000
