Overview

We are seeking an experienced and driven Account Executive to join our clients Dartford-based commercial insurance team. This role will focus on developing and managing a portfolio of clients within motor, fleet, haulage, logistics, transport, and waste management sectors.

The successful candidate will be responsible for new business generation through cold calling, developing their own book of business, and taking over and retaining existing client relationships passed across from Business Development Directors (BDDs).

Key Responsibilities

New Business Development

• Proactively generate new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, client meetings and referrals
• Identify and target prospects within motor, fleet, haulage, logistics, transport, and waste management industries
• Develop and grow a profitable personal book of business
• Conduct client meetings (virtual and face-to-face) to assess risk and insurance needs
• Prepare, present, and negotiate insurance proposals with clients

Account Management & Retention

• Take ownership of a retention book of business transitioned from Business Development Directors
• Provide a high level of ongoing service to ensure strong client retention and satisfaction
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, handling mid-term adjustments, renewals, and claims liaison
• Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities within existing accounts

Market & Insurer Engagement

• Negotiate with insurers and underwriters to secure competitive terms and coverage
• Maintain strong relationships with key insurance markets
• Stay up to date with market trends, insurer appetite, and regulatory requirements
