Bridge Recruitment is helping one of our established clients recruit an experienced Manufacturing Manager to join their ever‑expanding team. You will report to the Operations Director.
Responsibilities of the Manufacturing Manager- Responsible and accountable for the manufacturing process in place to ensure lines are loaded and kits are available, managing WIP stock levels and accuracy, producing the products, and closing off production of goods ready for dispatch to meet required OTIF and quality targets.
- Ensure an effective management system is in place to manage all areas under your responsibility, including reports that provide the data required to manage the team effectively.
- Manufacture products efficiently, on budget, to set quality standards and on time.
- Reduce lead times while keeping production flexible to meet customer expectations.
- Analyse output against forecasted plans to track performance, identifying any problem areas and opportunities to improve efficiencies.
- Communicate between production and sales teams to ensure lead times are achieved and customers are made aware of any possible delays.
- Attend meetings to communicate any production‑related matters.
- Responsible for integrating new products into the production processes.
- Create reports detailing manufacturing, materials and capacity requirements for the factory.
- Responsible for compliance with quality control systems, in line with ISO
9001. - Understand and develop Sage/Tarquin for all manufacturing needs.
- Responsible for the production planning and scheduling of products in line with capacity and customer lead‑time requirements, ensuring a written production plan is in place at all times.
- Measure schedule adherence (actual production against the plan) and ensure corrective action plans are in place to meet targets at all times.
- Measure the efficiency of the manufacturing area, implementing continuous improvement action plans to address downtime and improve efficiencies.
- Ensure any backlog orders have a plan to reduce and eliminate conditions with a structured plan shared with all concerned.
- Ensure the OTIF (on time and in full) target is achieved, with corrective action plans in place.
- Maintain a structured efficiency and cost‑savings plan related to process improvements and potential material cost savings.
- Entice a “quality mindset” within the teams and area of responsibility, tracking and delivering on time.
- Ensure project timing is met with manufacturing requirements and any required facilities.
- Implement and maintain 5S within your area of responsibility, ensuring the highest housekeeping standards.
- Ensure all H&S requirements are met and maintained, including equipment‑related requirements (LEV testing, etc.) in conjunction with the H&S manager.
- Address environmental impacts and ensure compliance in the factory/areas of responsibility, in line with ISO
14001 standards. - Ensure all company appraisal requirements are completed on time and to the required standard.
- Qualification in the field of production or a related field.
- More than 5 years’ experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing facility.
- Ability to manage spike order processing, balancing bottlenecks and resources to meet delivery dates.
- Knowledge and practical implementation experience in production controls (e.g. Lean manufacturing).
- Ability to implement and maintain a comprehensive manufacturing measurement system, Efficiency‑focused, OEE, etc.
- Proficiency in an environment familiar with KPIs (key performance indicators).
- Lead and manage the manufacturing supply chain effectively.
- Develop and execute a structured development and succession plan for your area of responsibility, in collaboration with IIP.
- Cascade required KPIs throughout your area of responsibility in line with company requirements.
- Maintain a professional level of management and leadership.
- Develop and implement an asset care system to keep assets in optimal condition for producing top‑quality products.
