Overview
We are partnering with a rapidly growing building services contractor that specialises in integrated mechanical, electrical, and HVAC solutions. This business has a strong track record in highly regulated environments such as healthcare and education sectors, and is now scaling its electrical division.
Responsibilities- Plan, manage, and oversee electrical projects (power, lighting, fire, security, data) in commercial and regulated sectors.
- Coordinate with design teams, clients, subcontractors, and internal disciplines (mechanical, BMS).
- Monitor project progress and drive continuous improvement, ensuring deliverables meet quality and compliance standards.
- Provide regular project reporting: budget, cost control, risk assessment, change management.
- Oversee health & safety on site; ensure works comply with relevant regulations and standards.
- Manage procurement of materials and subcontractors: negotiate contracts, maintain supplier relationships, track delivery.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a project team of engineers, site staff, and subcontractors.
- Conduct site meetings, inspections, and progress reviews; proactively resolve issues.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to drive capacity planning, resource forecasting and business growth within the electrical division.
- Proven experience (minimum 5+ years) in managing electrical projects in the M&E / building services sector.
- Strong technical understanding of electrical systems: power distribution, lighting, fire/security systems, data networks.
- Experience working in highly regulated environments (e.g., healthcare, education) would be highly advantageous.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Competent in budgeting, cost control, and commercial management.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make decisions under pressure.
- Qualified to degree or HND level in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Professional certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, PMP, or construction management) are a plus.
- Full UK driving license.
