If you get a buzz from connecting ideas, spotting opportunities before others do, and turning research into real-world results — keep reading.

Within Expanded, we build the unseen — from the deepest basements to the most ambitious concrete superstructures. But behind every project is a team that wins the work, tells the story, and drives the strategy. That's where you come in.

We're looking for a Business Development Assistant to join our dynamic team and help drive growth, strategy, and creativity across the business.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be the bridge between strategy, creativity, and delivery — supporting our business development and marketing efforts through:

  • Bringing ideas to life: Creating high-quality sales collateral and capability brochures that reflect our engineering excellence.
  • Powering up presentations: Supporting the senior leadership team with compelling proposals and client presentations.
  • Exploring new frontiers: Supporting market research to identify competitive trends, opportunities, and insights that drive strategic decisions.
  • Tracking performance: Measuring campaign success — helping us understand what works and where to go next.
  • Owningour data: Maintaining and managing critical information in Salesforce and related systems.
  • Making connections: Supporting the planning, coordination, and facilitation of industry conferences and events, ensuring Expanded shines wherever we go.
  • Designing impact: Preparing and managing engaging presentation decks for both internal and client-facing audiences.
  • Driving strategy: Assisting in strategic planning initiatives focused on priority sectors and future business opportunities.
  • Building relationships: Strengthening client partnerships through thoughtful engagement and collaboration.
  • Telling our story: Working with the Communications team to craft content — from news stories and social posts to newsletters and promotional materials.
  • Collaborating across the group: Supporting the STBG working group to enhance cross-business operations, events, and exhibitions.
The reality…
  • You’ll learn a lot — fast.
  • Your ideas will be listened to (and used).
  • You’ll get exposure to how business strategy and delivery connect.
  • You’ll get vast exposure to Senior Leadership
Who you’re…
  • Curious, proactive, and organised — you love variety and learning about how businesses grow.
  • Confident with research, writing, and design tools.
  • Excited about construction, engineering, and the power of storytelling in business.
  • Construction / Engineering experience

You’ll be joining a business that thrives on innovation, collaboration, and a bold approach to the built environment.
