Minimum Qualifications
- Master s Degree required
- Professional Teaching Certificate required
- Minimum of five (5) years highly successful teaching experience
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
Job GoalsThe Coordinating Teacher will provide leadership and assistance to staff members in the areas of curriculum and instruction in order to improve student performance. He/she will coach teachers in effective instructional strategies and practices, conduct demonstration lessons, collaborate with teachers, and plan appropriate professional development activities.
Performance Responsibilities Professional Development for Teachers- Conduct classroom observations
- Model effective instructional strategies for teachers
- Provide opportunities for teacher collaboration
- Provide professional development activities
- Coach teachers in effective strategies and practices
- Help teachers develop expertise in assessing and diagnosing strengths and weaknesses and prescribe the appropriate instruction
- Maintain and oversee School Renewal Plan
- Chair the Response to Intervention Team
- Provide regular reports to district liaison on total program
- Participate in District Staff Development
- Assist in analyzing test data for instructional emphasis
- Assist in developing classroom assessments
- Maintain current materials’ inventory
- Assist teacher in the selection of materials
- Critique and upgrade instructional materials
- Coordinate the ordering process from selection to receipt and distribution of instructional materials and supplies
- Provide literacy instruction for small groups
- Provide tutoring services
- Teach course(s) as necessary
- Assist with programs for parents at the school
- Collaborate with district Parent Involvement Coordinator
