The Indian Prairie Public Library is seeking a friendly, tech-savvy person who enjoys assisting people with computers, devices, and other library equipment.
This position will work in our Technology Center Desk and assist patrons using our computers, printers, software and scanners. Good people skills, patience, and the ability to troubleshoot and investigate technology issues are key.

Responsibilities- Have the ability to answer a variety of questions and problem-solve technology issues.
- Have a passion for helping others gain skills and be successful.
- Have personal or work experience with computers, Microsoft Office and other technology.
- Be able to multitask and remain calm in a busy environment.
- Provide extraordinary customer service.
- Have a sense of humor and enjoy learning.
- Be detail oriented with the ability to closely follow procedures.
- High school degree or equivalent.
- At least two years of experience working with the public.
- At least two years of experience using a computer in a work or educational environment.
- Proficiency in using computers and other devices, including smartphones and tablets.
- Must be available to work days, evenings, and weekends.
- Must have reliable transportation.
The salary is $18.22 and includes accrued paid leave. The position averages 14 hours per week including days, evenings and one weekend a month. This position earns 1 hour of Paid Leave for every 40 hours worked.
Schedule- Tuesdays 5-9 p.m.
- Thursdays 1-5 p.m.
- Plus, one weekend every month:
Saturday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sunday 1
-5 p.m.
