We’re looking for a highly motivated, detail-focused Director of eCommerce to own and accelerate our client’s direct-to-consumer business across apparel and additional product categories.
This hands-on leader will be accountable for the full DTC eCommerce P&L and will drive revenue growth

, and strong operational performance across the Shopify ecosystem.
Type: Direct hire, hybrid in CT
Schedule: Standard business hours
Base Salary: $185,000 - $200,000, and the role is bonus eligible
Director of eCommerce Responsibilities- Own and manage the DTC eCommerce P&L, delivering against revenue, margin, and growth targets
- Elevate the end-to-end Shopify customer experience through data-driven improvements to UX/UI
, navigation, content, and checkout funnel performance - Partner cross-functionally with Inventory, Marketing, Sales, Product Development, and Operations to align DTC priorities with broader business goals
- Lead eCommerce initiatives end to end
, including planning,
QA
, and execution of site enhancements and launches from concept through go-live - Build and refine analytics and reporting processes to support both near-term optimizations and long-range DTC strategy
- Act as the internal authority on eCommerce best practices
, identifying opportunities for growth, efficiency, and innovation - Run ongoing audits of site performance, conversion, and the customer journey to maintain competitiveness and drive continuous improvement
- Manage external agencies across site development, platform enhancements, and ongoing maintenance with clear accountability for outcomes
- Apply strong understanding of digital marketing and SEO to support traffic growth, conversion, and retention
- Collaborate with licensing stakeholders to ensure the DTC site stays aligned with brand guidelines and approval workflows
- Own the short- and long-term DTC roadmap, including platform evolution, technology upgrades, UX/UI enhancements, and product structure optimization
- 10+ years leading and scaling a DTC eCommerce business with full P&L ownership ideally with experience in products such as apparel
- Experience managing at least $30+ million in eComm revenue streams
- Strong analytical approach with a track record of using data to drive strategic and tactical decisions
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Deep expertise in eCommerce platforms, site architecture, UX/UI, and digital customer journeys with strong Shopify experience
- Experience managing external vendors and agencies with accountability for performance and deliverables
- Knowledge of digital marketing channels and SEO best practices
- Excellent organization and attention to detail with consistent deadline execution
- High integrity, discretion, and respect for confidentiality
- Entrepreneurial, customer-focused, and results-oriented with sound judgment and strong ownership
- Clear, confident communicator with a collaborative, team-first mindset
