HVAC Service Technician - Baton Rouge, LA

Job Summary

The HVAC Service Technician will test and troubleshoot AC systems, check continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, and use testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes to ensure system compatibility and safety.

• Work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, modify, and repair heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems, fans and fan motors, and associated safety equipment, ensuring peak efficiency and energy conservation.
• Provide preliminary sketches and cost estimates for materials and services.
• Diagnose malfunctioning systems, locate causes of breakdown, and correct problems.
• Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
• Inspect electrical systems, identify hazards or defects; adjust or repair to ensure compliance with codes. Advise management of hazardous equipment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Plan, monitor, install, and adjust the full range of heating, cooling, and ventilation equipment using an energy management system, performing hands‑on work.
• Perform installation of mechanical systems including piping and modifications to existing facility cooling systems.
• Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on packaged units, split‑coil systems, air compressors, pumps, air handlers, and air‑cooled condensers.
• Complete duties and responsibilities with a strong background in HVAC and refrigeration equipment, including hands‑on experience operating and troubleshooting systems.

• Ability to troubleshoot single and three‑phase installation.
• Ability to work with tablet, laptop, or desktop device.
• Must have a clean driving record (no more than 3 points in 12 months).
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug test.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include weekends.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to solve basic math problems.

• Degree or trades school certification in a related field preferred.
• Three to five years of related experience required.
• EPA 608 Certified (required).

• Prolonged periods standing, crawling, and climbing.
• Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds at times.
