General Job Responsibilities
Community Bank Loan Assistants have direct interface with current and potential bank customers and work closely with the Loan Officers and other bank staff. They provide services which include completion of loan request data sheets, closing loans with customers and disbursing funds, explaining bank products and services, solving customer problems, and answering other customer requests. The Loan Assistant must possess a thorough knowledge of all bank products and services, fully understand and adhere to all federal and state laws and the policies of the Bank, and be able to communicate effectively with the customer, at times during a difficult situation.
A pleasant customer service attitude is essential as well as willingness to be a team player. Loan Assistants report to the designated Officer.
- Interface with current and potential bank customers and work closely with Loan Officers and other bank staff.
- Complete loan request data sheets, close loans with customers, and disburse funds.
- Explain bank products and services, solve customer problems, and answer other customer requests.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of all bank products and services and adhere to federal and state laws and Bank policies.
- Communicate effectively with customers, including in difficult situations, and contribute to a positive team environment.
- Report to the designated Officer.
- Education — Graduation from high school or equivalent GED required; some college or postgraduate technical training preferred.
- Experience — A minimum of two years’ work experience in a loan assistant/processor position preferred.
