Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO).on Federal and DoD construction projects including ACOE, NAVFAC, Air Force, NASA and CBP
This position is responsible for the day-to-day management, supervision, safety, and quality control of assigned construction projects and reports directly to the Project Manager. Projects are primarily performed at U.S. military and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) installations along the Gulf Coast.
Project scopes may include:- Building renovations and repairs
- New construction
- Pre-construction services
- IT and physical security upgrades
- Electrical, plumbing, and HVAC work
- Demolition
- Civil and utility construction (electrical systems, underground potable water, stormwater, and sewer infrastructure, including associated earthwork)
- Plan, schedule, organize, direct, and control construction projects from start to finish in accordance with contract requirements, specifications, schedule, and budget.
- Serve as the primary on-site point of contact with the Government until project acceptance.
- Be physically present on-site whenever construction activities are underway.
- Direct and coordinate subcontractors and vendors to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant performance.
- Prepare and maintain 4-week look-ahead schedules.
- Analyze project schedules to optimize sequencing, support concurrent activities, and implement early completion strategies.
- Coordinate, procure and execute mobilization activities.
- Conduct weekly progress meetings with Government representatives and subcontractors.
- Ability to effectively lead a crew on schedule while monitoring quality of work at hand and safety compliance.
The selected candidate will serve as the primary on-site liaison with Government representatives and will oversee subcontractors and vendors to ensure compliance with contract documents, safety standards, quality requirements, and project schedules and budgets.

Safety Management (SSHO):- Implement and enforce company and contract-specific safety programs in compliance with OSHA and EM 385-1-1 (March 2024 edition).
- Conduct daily safety inspections.
- Review and submit subcontractor Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs) and safety plans.
- Maintain safety deficiency logs and ensure timely corrective actions.
- Conduct employee orientations and regular safety meetings.
- Enforce all client and company safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure proper use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Identify construction hazards and implement appropriate elimination, mitigation, or control measures.
- Prepare and submit detailed daily reports.
- Manage subcontractor badging and base access processes.
- Maintain accurate project documentation in Procore, Kahua, RMS, ECMS, SharePoint, and other required platforms.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, audits, and documentation requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free job site.
- Provide professional, courteous communication with Government officials, subcontractors, coworkers, and the public.
- Participate in pre-construction process, i.e. review scopes and assist in buy-out of subcontractors, develop and submit site specific and safety preconstruction plans, and existing conditions site investigations.
- Perform pre-bid site walks and provide feedback to the estimating team.

This is a full-time, field-based position supporting U.S. Government contracts at military and CBP installations. The majority of work will be performed on active construction sites.
