Craft and Technical Solutions (CTS) is an established Marine and Industrial Staffing Company with offices nationwide. We partner with businesses and jobseekers to efficiently place qualified professionals.

We are currently seeking a Temporary Staff Accountant for an urgent, immediate need in Spanish Fort, AL. This position has a strong emphasis on Accounts Payable and requires someone who can step in quickly and work in a fast-paced environment.

Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, this role will support the Finance, Accounting, and Payroll functions during a high-demand period.

Responsibilities
  • Manage daily accounting activities with a primary focus on Accounts Payable
  • Receive, review, and verify vendor invoices for accuracy, approval, and proper coding
  • Prepare and process vendor payments (checks and ACH)
  • Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve billing discrepancies
  • Review accounts for discrepancies and reconcile differences
  • Support accounting close cycles, including reconciliations and ad hoc analysis
  • Maintain accurate documentation for audit and tax purposes
  • Review and code company credit card transactions to appropriate general ledger accounts
  • Reconcile credit card statements and ensure policy compliance
  • Apply customer payments (checks, ACH, wire transfers, credit cards)
  • Review employee timesheets for accuracy and proper authorization
  • Assist auditors by responding to inquiries and validating transactions
  • Communicate with internal departments to support company objectives
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Solid understanding of bookkeeping and general accounting principles
  • Minimum of 2 years of Accounts Payable experience required
  • Working knowledge of job cost and construction accounting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of Accounts Payable experience required
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
