Travel RN – Emergency Room (7P–7A)

Facility: Danville Regional Medical Center Location: Danville, VA Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM Assignment Type: Travel Contract

Position Summary

The Travel Emergency Room Registered Nurse provides high‑quality, efficient, and compassionate care to patients presenting with urgent and emergent conditions. This role requires advanced clinical assessment skills, rapid decision‑making, and the ability to function effectively in a fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Triage and assess incoming patients to determine acuity and care needs
  • Administer medications, treatments, and emergency interventions according to established protocols
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
  • Monitor patient status and document clinical findings accurately and promptly
  • Operate and maintain ER equipment including cardiac monitors, IV pumps, and defibrillators
  • Educate patients and families regarding care plans, procedures, and discharge instructions
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards
Requirements
  • Active RN license (state or compact)
  • Minimum 5 years of Emergency Department experience
  • Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, Handle with Care, NIH, PALS or ENPC
  • Strong critical‑thinking and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a high‑acuity environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in community or regional hospital ER settings
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record systems
Contract Details
  • Night shift: 7P–7A
  • Full‑time schedule, typically 36 hours per week
