• Planning, directing, implementing, and evaluating all aspects of nursing care on assigned unit for residents ages 10‑22.
• Ensuring nursing services are provided in accordance with Nursing Standards of Care and the Interdisciplinary Plan of Treatment.
• Monitoring, reporting, and documenting the residents’ behavior and physiological status.
• Administering medications and performing treatments/procedures.
• Guiding the response to residents who are behaviorally out of control or who may be experiencing a medical or behavioral crisis in collaboration with the nurse manager and physician.
• Reporting accurately and concisely to oncoming shifts regarding conditions of residents.

• Current license to practice nursing in the State of Virginia (or eligible to receive or renew).
• Current CPR or BLS certification preferred (can renew as part of New Employee Orientation).
• Must be at least 21 years of age at time of hire.
• Ability to successfully complete and pass all components of Handle With Care & Verbal De‑escalation Crisis Intervention Training.
• Ability to use and supervise Handle With Care (HWC) techniques.
• Reflect behavior, attitude, and appearance appropriate to the position and be supportive of the facility and division philosophy, goals, and objectives.
• Effectively communicate both verbally and via written documentation.
