• Provide advanced nursing care for patients with psychiatric disorders in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, and nursing standards.
• Safely implement the use of seclusion/ restraints based on patients’ physical and emotional risk factors.
• Participate in a 4‑week new employee orientation and ongoing training (BLS, Therapeutic Options, etc.).
• Work 12‑hour non‑rotating Pitman schedule (7:00 am–7:30 pm), with required overtime and rotating weekend shifts.

• Up to a $25,000 bonus for new state‑service nurses who remain for 2 years.
• $15,000 sign‑on bonus for new state‑service hires with a one‑year written agreement.
• Additional $10,000 retention bonus for hires after December 10, 2023 (paid one year after hire).
• Shift differentials: 1st shift weekend $5.50/hr; 2nd shift weekday $5.50/hr, weekend/holidays $6.00/hr; 3rd shift weekday $4.00/hr, weekend/holidays $7.00/hr.

• Experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Current and in good standing RN license in Virginia (or license‑eligible; multi‑state compact accepted).
• Valid driver’s license.

• Knowledge of psychiatric nursing theory and practice.
• Familiarity with psychosocial rehabilitation/recovery models.
• Successful completion of BLS, Therapeutic Options, and other required training.
• Effective interpersonal communication and team‑focused care skills.
• Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate care utilizing knowledge of pharmacology, psychiatric and physical disorders, and cultural needs.
• Skill in delegating, supervising, and evaluating nursing processes.

• Experience in psychiatric, acute care, long‑term, or correctional settings.
• Veterans and people with national service experience.
• Spanish and English bilingual fluency.
