Responsibilities
Manages the day-to-day nursing operations, shift management, and scheduling of the Residential and Day programs; staff training and staff supervision, including selection, performance evaluations and discipline of the nursing staff; scheduling and ordering supplies; maintaining records; ensuring medication security; distributing and administering medications to individuals; recommending medical plan of care; providing training to staff; attending interdisciplinary team meetings; responding to on-call incidents as needed;
initiating referrals for services as instructed by physicians; monitoring individuals for medication effects and side effects; providing medication education to individuals and their families; and interfacing with community medical professionals.
- Registered Nurse with a valid RN license to practice in Virginia.
- Three years of experience working as an RN or LPN.
- At least one year of experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
- Fingerprints, state and FBI criminal record reports, drug test, and Central Registry (CANIS) report will be required upon request. Our Agency maintains a drug‑free workplace.
