Registered Nurse (RN), House Supervisor – Nights

Schedule: 3 – 12 hour shifts

Provides supervisory coverage for nursing departments, other patient care areas, and the hospital during assigned shifts and after‑hours. Assists physicians and staff with admission status, serves as a reference and resource, coordinates patient care, and supports staff and families.

• Assesses patient acuity and implements staffing plans based on patient census and available staff.
• Leads the patient care team on the designated shift, completing leadership rounds and making patient/room/bed assignments.
• Serves as a resource to staff for clinical problem solving and for identifying administrative/operational improvements.
• Document and communicate incidents to appropriate managers, reporting significant incidents to administrator‑on‑call.
• Responsible for staff discipline while on duty and monitors staff performance, offering solutions to improve outcomes.
• Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
• Integrates evidence‑based practices into operations and clinical protocols.

Applicants must have a current VA RN license (or compact state). Bachelor’s degree preferred. Two years of experience in an acute hospital setting required. Additional requirements include:

• American Heart Association Basic Life Support.
• Experience in an acute care hospital (preferred).
• American Heart Association ACLS within 6 months of hire.
