Location Requirement- Prefer candidates located in VA, NC, MD, or DC region
- Must be willing to travel onsite to Danville, VA as required
- Available to begin within 2-4 weeks of selection
- Willing to commit to minimum 6-month engagement
Tech Nix is seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager with demonstrated public sector experience and strong change management capability. The selected consultant will lead IT modernization, governance, and process improvement initiatives within a municipal or government IT environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead IT modernization and transformation initiatives
- Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, and risk registers
- Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders across IT and business units
- Lead change management efforts related to IT initiatives
- Conduct stakeholder impact assessments and readiness planning
- Develop communication strategies and adoption plans
- Ensure compliance with public sector governance standards
- Provide executive-level status reporting and presentations
- Oversee vendor coordination and performance monitoring
- 10+ years of IT Project Management experience
- Minimum 3+ years leading change management initiatives
- Experience supporting State, Local, or Federal government agencies
- Strong documentation and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience managing IT governance or modernization initiatives
- PMP (Preferred)
- Prosci Change Management (Strong Plus)
- ITIL (Plus)
