PositionPosition: Senior IT Consultant Governance & Advisory
Duration: 6 months to 12 months
Location: Danville, VA
Location Requirement:
- Prefer candidates located in VA, NC, MD, or DC
- Must be willing to travel onsite to Danville, VA as required
- Available within 2 4 weeks of selection
- Willing to commit to minimum 6-month engagement
Tech Nix is seeking a senior-level IT Consultant with strong public sector advisory experience. The consultant will provide governance guidance, operational assessments, strategic recommendations, and modernization planning support to municipal or government IT leadership.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct IT governance and operational maturity assessments
- Develop strategic IT improvement recommendations
- Evaluate organizational structure, policies, and best practices
- Support development of IT roadmaps and modernization plans
- Provide advisory services to executive and departmental leadership
- Assist in aligning IT services with business objectives
- Develop policy and governance documentation
- Support process improvement initiatives
- 8+ years of IT consulting experience
- Experience advising State, Local, or Federal agencies
- Knowledge of IT governance frameworks (ITIL, COBIT, NIST, etc.)
- Experience conducting IT operational assessments
- Strong executive communication skills
- ITIL Certification
- COBIT / Governance Certification
- Experience supporting municipal IT departments
