Medical Assistant (Healthcare)

A Woman's Choice Inc., a reputable abortion clinic based in Danville, is seeking a skilled and empathetic Medical Assistant to join our team. We are committed to providing safe, confidential, and comprehensive reproductive healthcare services to women in need.

Responsibilities
  • Assist healthcare providers in delivering patient care services in a supportive and non-judgmental environment.
  • Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are properly stocked with necessary supplies and equipment.
  • Obtain and record vital signs, medical history, and other relevant patient information.
  • Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients throughout their visit.
  • Assist with various procedures, including but not limited to abortion procedures, contraception counseling, and pregnancy testing.
  • Perform laboratory tests and handle specimens as required.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
  • Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized clinical environment.
  • Adhere to all relevant legal, ethical, and professional standards.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a clinical or healthcare setting is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of reproductive health, family planning, and abortion services is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain patient confidentiality and privacy.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced and sometimes emotionally challenging environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing clinic needs and schedules.
  • Current CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Must be able to work on Saturdays.
