Efficient and effective at on the job learning to apply to new vehicles and technology when concerns arise. Additional InformationThe Automotive Service Technician is responsible for performing assigned vehicle repair and maintenance work with efficiency and accuracy while in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
- Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
- Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and performs repairs.
- Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
- Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
- Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
- Communicates with service advisors immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
- Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
- Road tests vehicles when required.
- Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools and events.
- Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
- Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
- Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean. Notifies service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
- Keep shop area neat and clean.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience.
- Must have Pennsylvania inspection/emission license.
- Must have own tools.
- Must be a team player and able to maintain a positive working attitude and environment.
- ASE certification preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of the English language, spelling, grammar, punctuation and numbering systems.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information one-on-one to customers, clients, and other employees.
- Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft software products.
- Knowledge of basic math.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen, motor vehicle and background check.
Hours:
Monday through Friday 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM with some evenings and some Saturdays.
Full Time Salary is not negotiable. Hyundai Technical Training Equivalency Assessment Program
Hyundai welcomes experienced technicians from other OEMs. The program allows technicians with training from an industry-recognized source, other than Hyundai, to test out of certain Hyundai instructor-led technical training courses, provided they meet certain requirements.
