Overview
The Department of Population Health Sciences (DPHS) and Nursing Research at Geisinger invites applications from nurse researchers for a faculty position (Associate or Full rank) to join our multidisciplinary team. The candidate is expected to lead an independent research program and have experience mentoring nurses in conducting clinical research. The DPHS is part of the Research Institute within the College of Health Sciences singer is a large integrated health system with a research portfolio that includes funding from NIH, CDC, PCORI, state and foundation grants, and industry.
The DPHS faculty includes epidemiologists, biostatisticians, health services, and health economist researchers. Faculty have access to longitudinal electronic medical record data, claims data, genetic, and environmental data. The position is jointly funded by Nursing Research. The candidate will be expected to direct the Nursing Research Fellowship program, a 12-month program that aims to increase knowledge about research and generate projects to support the nursing excellence culture is also expected that this role will help enhance research training in our nursing education programs.
- Lead an independent research program and mentor nurses in conducting clinical research.
- Direct the Nursing Research Fellowship program (12-month) to increase knowledge about research and generate projects supporting nursing excellence at Geisinger.
- Collaborate with the DPHS faculty, including epidemiologists, biostatisticians, health services researchers, and health economists, and work with health system data to address important problems using innovative health information and informatics approaches.
- Contribute to the enhancement of research training in nursing education programs.
- PhD or DNP with training in health services research.
- Experience mentoring nurses in clinical research and an ability to lead an independent, extramurally funded research program.
- Experience working with health system data and/or developing and evaluating care models from a nursing perspective.
- Preference given to candidates with existing funding.
