Respiratory Therapist Registered DME

• Consistently performs and documents thorough patient assessments.
• Establishes appropriate care plans by evaluating patients’ respiratory needs.
• Setting up and maintaining respiratory therapy equipment such as CPAP and BIPAP machines, Instructing patients on the use and maintenance of respiratory therapy equipment.
• Compliance follow up:
  Making calls to ensure patients are adhering to their prescribed therapy.
• Resupply management:
  Handling requests for additional supplies and placing orders as a needed.
• Mask fittings and exchanges:
  Ensuring patients have properly fitting mass and facilitating exchanges when necessary.
• Tracking patient progress and compliance with therapy and documenting all interaction and interventions.
• Maintains effective communication with patients and healthcare providers about patient care, compliance, and pressure settings.
• Provides appropriate, age-specific, patient and family education as it relates to disease management.
• Adheres to regulatory requirements and safety standards.
• Adheres to institutional and nationally established standards of care.
• Maintains the confidentially of patient information according to established internal and external specifications and regulations including release of information and HIPAA.
• Functions as a preceptor for orientees.
