Job Summary

Geisinger's Cancer Institute is seeking a board-certified Hematologist/Medical Oncologist to lead their growing central Pennsylvania region, based at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. The Hem/Onc Division Chief will establish and lead the strategic plan for department services across the organization, fostering innovation in care delivery, utilizing technology to improve quality and efficiency. The Chief will oversee providers, faculty, residents, and clinicians to optimize patient care, support research, and provide educational programs.

The position offers proximity to NYC, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Harrisburg.

Job Duties

Provide leadership, planning, organization, staffing, coordination, and evaluation of departmental activities.

Develop and maintain the department's capital and operating budgets.

Collaborate with clinical, administrative, and finance leaders to establish budgets for staffing and program delivery.

Act as liaison with hospital administration to promote innovative care, teaching, and research.

Supervise and evaluate physicians in clinical and administrative duties.

Oversee quality improvement efforts within the department.

Manage clinical, operational, and financial aspects of the department.

Potentially oversee residency or fellowship programs.

Ensure compliance with organizational, accreditation, and regulatory standards, policies, and procedures.

Work is performed in clinical and office environments. The role requires adherence to organizational policies and job-specific obligations. Additional competencies from department-specific orientation are essential for job performance.

Requirements

Education:

Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (Required)
Experience:

Relevant clinical experience
Certification and License:
Licensed Medical Doctor in Pennsylvania
