Ephraim McDowell is a 15‑bed behavioral health unit located in Danville, Kentucky.

How You'll Contribute
  • Maintain overall responsibility for all aspects of operations.
  • Responsible for hiring, training, supervision when required, and evaluation of all unit staff.
  • Participate in providing care as needed and ensures services are carried out and documented appropriately.
  • Participate in hospital/unit and/or administrator on‑call schedule, accordingly.
  • Assure that all policies established by the Governing Body are implemented and followed appropriately.
  • Assist in strategic planning as appropriate.
  • Participate in facility growth and outreach; collaborate with the marketing department for programs, with input and direction from the divisional vice president (BH).
  • Provide input on the annual budget for the program in conjunction with the divisional team, showing expected revenue and expenditures as required by the board.
  • Oversee unit‑based activities related to behavioral health, including administration of care, productivity, and compliance with furnished policies and procedures.
  • Support facility‑based initiatives related to federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and ordinances.
  • Consult with leaders regularly; evaluate leadership competence and make changes as necessary; keep lines of communication open and foster a positive work environment.
  • Ensure maintenance of physical properties in safe condition.
  • Present periodic reports reflecting the services and financial activities of the behavioral health unit.
  • Attend all meetings of the hospital board and committees as directed by the CNO and CEO.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies by supporting facility‑based compliance initiatives and recording and reporting data related to compliance and performance measures.
  • Oversee change implementation initiatives provided by the facility and divisional management team when indicated.
  • Assist the facility with sustaining program accreditation and licensing by implementing, monitoring, and reporting performance measures related to quality initiatives.
  • Review plans for program objectives and goals; periodically review, evaluate, and update such plans.
  • Serve as a liaison between critical stakeholders, including facility leadership, the division management team, and staff on the behavioral health unit.
  • Assist the nursing department with a designated Nurse Manager/Leader should the Program Director not be a registered nurse.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

What We're Looking For
  • Education
    :
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
    • Master's degree in nursing preferred.
    • Qualified by education and experience in the care of behavioral health patients.
