The transition from high school to adulthood can be challenging, but with the right support, students can navigate this journey with confidence. At Sycamore Services, our Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) program empowers students to explore their career interests, gain valuable work experience, and prepare for a successful future.

As a Career Coach, you will play a key role in guiding students through this important transition by providing personalized coaching, facilitating work‑based learning experiences, and helping students build the skills they need to thrive in the workplace and beyond. If you're a motivated, compassionate advocate for students with disabilities, this is your opportunity to inspire and shape the future of the next generation!

Key Responsibilities
  • Career Exploration & Development:
    Guide students in exploring career options, developing workplace skills, and preparing for post‑secondary education.
  • Collaboration:

    Act as the primary contact within schools, working with VRS and school staff to identify eligible students, provide resources, and create work‑based learning opportunities.
  • Support & Advocacy:
    Connect students and families with resources, including benefits planning and community support services. Advocate for students' needs to ensure successful transitions.
  • Data & Reporting:
    Track and report student progress, ensuring accurate data collection and submission.
  • Training & Professional Development:
    Participate in team meetings, stay current on transition practices, and assist school staff with training and support.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in human services or related field, preferred. Relevant experience may qualify as a substitute to a bachelor's degree.
  • Experience working with students with disabilities, particularly in transition or employment services.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of transition practices and benefits planning (or willingness to learn).
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to lift 35 pounds.
