Overview

$5,000 Sign on Bonus Available (external candidates only).

The MRI Technologist performs magnetic resonance imaging procedures using various equipment and contrast material. Prepares and administers gadolinium-based contrast material based on Carle policies and procedures.

Qualifications
  • Registered in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days – American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Certificate of Completion:
    Radiologic Technology (Required)
  • College Diploma:
    Related Field (Required)
Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates acceptable imaging quality standards by critiquing positioning, technical factors and alignment.
  • Reviews patient data for accuracy, quality and completeness.
  • Ensures patient, visitor and environmental safety; reports safety events immediately.
  • May perform duties of MRI Lead or Imaging Coordinator in absence.
  • Meets productivity levels established by department benchmarking; assists other areas during downtimes.
  • May be required to perform duties of other modalities within the department.
  • Research assignments as needed.
  • Performs magnetic resonance imaging procedures and assigned invasive procedures, including multi‑planar reformats and 3D rendered images independently; reviews case with the radiologist when appropriate.
  • Administers IV gadolinium based contrast when appropriate; recognizes and responds to adverse reactions.
  • Reviews radiology orders for completeness and accuracy; acquires additional information as needed.
  • Transfers and verifies image data in PACS; utilizes RIS for scheduling, billing and coding; uses web server/EA viewer for after‑hours preliminary readings.
  • Maintains imaging equipment and workplace environment; reports service needs timely.
  • Assists in instruction of students and new staff in unit operations as necessary.
Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $35.82 per hour – $61.61 per hour. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will depend on factors including experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
