Salary Range: $21.30 To $27.63 Hourly
Hospice of the East Bay (HEB) is a community-based hospice and palliative care program providing services in the home and at our six-bed Hospice facility for terminally ill patients and those in need of palliative care. Care is given to patients and families by an interdisciplinary group. Bereavement care is provided to the family for a minimum of one year after the death.
Hospice and palliative care offer a sponsored care program to provide services regardless of patient’s ability to pay.

Reporting to the Retail Area Manager, this position is responsible for assisting in managing the sales, operations, and asset protection of the store to ensure profitability and a positive customer experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Promotes customer service by ensuring staff and volunteers are greeting and assisting customers.
- Performs all financial activities effectively and ensures all register transactions are completed accurately and in accordance with policy. Reconciles daily sales and deposits.
- Maintains a visually appealing store, ensuring visual merchandising, organization and housekeeping are keep to a high standard. Oversees pricing of merchandise.
- Manages the general operations of the store ensuring that the store is in good working order, and adequately supplied to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Plans monthly sales and other promotions in coordination with the Retail Area Manager and the Merchandise Manager.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; must be able to interact well with the public, volunteers, and senior citizens.
- Ability to articulate the hospice philosophy.
- Strong physical skills, unrestricted mobility, and ability to lift a minimum of 30 lbs.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with ability to effectively multi-task.
- Intermediate computer skills are required. Proficient with email, Outlook, and MS Office.
- Must be available to work weekends.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- One (1) year retail and/or thrift shop experience required
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
